Charlie's House

Charlie and Cynthia Szoradi's solar home is remodeled from an energy-inefficient house from the 1950s.  It creates all its own electricity from solar panels, and incorporates 50 distinct eco-sustainability savings points, including efficient use of natural light, enhanced insulation, recycled fiber carpets, and storm water management systems.

Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia & Green Economy Task Force

The mission of the Sustainable Business Network is to build a just, green, and thriving economy in the Greater Philadelphia region. We accomplish this by educating and growing a broad base of local, independent businesses and educating policymakers and the public.

The Green Economy Task Force is a coalition of concerned citizens, businesses, government officials, organized labor, non-profits, and communities of faith that is working to build an inclusive green economy in the Philadelphia region that benefits our neighborhoods, our working families, and our planet. Convened by SBN in February of 2008, the Task Force has grown to include more than 650 Stakeholders and over 300 organizations.
